Name: William Luther (Bill) Paris Date: March 22nd, 1926 - July 17th, 2010 Obituary: William Luther (Bill) Paris, age 84 of Concord, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Upson Regional Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1926 in Atlanta to the late William Shay Paris and Inez Luther Booth. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margie Anne Green Paris; one brother, Richard Eugene Paris and wife Cindy, Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother-in-law, Charles B. Green and wife Mary, Spanish Fort, AL; children and spouses: Shay and Joe Frohn, Edgewood, KY, Rebecca Lynn and Danny Bates, Griffin, Dr. Ray B. and Inga Paris, Columbus, William B. (Bill) and Patricia Paris, Henry Co.; grandchildren and their spouses: Carson and Carrie Paris, Columbus, Brent and Jodie Paris, Birmingham, Caroline Paris, Columbus, Adams Bates, Griffin, Thomas Paris, Ft. Lewis, WA and Shalynn Paris, Henry County; one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Paris, Birmingham, one great-granddaughter soon to “arrive”, Columbus, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Paris grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Georgia Military Academy in 1944 with the rank of Captain of Company D. After graduation, he joined the Navy Flight Corps and was discharged after the end of WWII. He attended Auburn University where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Mr. Paris graduated with a B.S. in business in 1948 and joined his father at East Point Ford Company immediately after graduation. He succeeded his father as president of East Point Ford Company, attended Ford Merchandising School, and served as the Ford Dealer Council representative for the Southeastern Region. Mr. Paris worked for a period of time in securities and insurance, and he was joint owner of a Fiat dealership. He and his wife began Paris & Associates Real Estate & Appraisals in 1980 and continued to be active in the business until his illness. Mr. Paris was a past president of the East Point Rotary Club as well as past president of the Pike County Lion’s Club. While living in Atlanta, he was a member of the Yarab Temple’s Director’s Team. A primary interest for Mr. Paris during the past 15 years involved being on the board of the Palmetto Health Council during which time he served as president, treasurer, and vice-president. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
